Govind Vallabh Pant Public Museum
This amazing place positions itself near the bus stand. It also exhibits a fine collection of archaeologically important art as well as artifacts. Especially notable are the folk style paintings of the area, locally called as Kumaoni and Aspen.
Bright End Corner
If you wish to play hide and seek with the views of the sunrise and sunset, Bright End Corner is the place for you. A totally calm site, this is an ideal place to just relax. Nearby lies the Vivekananda Library where you can get books that depict the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

Nanda Devi Temple
The temple dates back to 200 years. Dedicated to the patron goddess of Chand Rajahs, this ancient temple also serves as an important religious site. The internal and external walls of the temple are exquisitely carved with idols of gods and goddesses. The temple remains especially busy during the annual event of Nanda Devi Fair, which is held in September.

Chitai Temple
Another sacred temple, Chitai temple is dedicated to Gollu Devta, who is among the most regarded Kumaoni gods. There are thousands of bells hanging here, which toll during the sacrificial offering of a goat before the deity.

Simtola
Lying just 5 kms away from the hill station. Simtola is a perfect place to capture the scenic views of Almora. The setting portrays a picture-postcard look coupled with the consistent rage of hills enveloped in fir and pine trees. It is a famous picnic site and another place to visit is Granite Hill and Hiragungi, which is an old diamond mine.
