Haridwar

Haridwar is an ancient city and important Hindu pilgrimage site in North India's Uttarakhand state, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills. The largest of several sacred ghats (bathing steps), Har Ki Pauri hosts a nightly Ganga Aarti (river-worshipping ceremony) in which tiny flickering lamps are floated off the steps. Worshipers fill the city during major festivals including the annual Kanwar Mela.

Haridwar is the feeling of the pilgrimage centers of Uttarakhand. Haridwar is as well known as Ganga-Dwara, because the holy Ganges enters the plains here. The well-liked centers of pilgrimage of Haridwar are namely the Gangadwara, Neel Parvat, Kushwart, Bilwa Teerth and Kankhal. Some of the accepted temples of the area are Gauri Shankar Temple, Vaishno Devi temple and Bharat Mata temple. There are several spiritual places in Haridwar which gives relief and mental peace to the visitors.

Haridwar Tourist Place
Tourist or travel sites abound in Haridwar. On the one hand, you can visit such popular temples as the Chandi Devi, Mansa Devi, Bharat Mata Mandir and Maya Devi. On the other, you can make a visit to famous ashrams like the Sapt Rishi and Anandamayi Maa. The Rajaji National Park is also located here.
